Matcha brownies Recipe are one of the delicious modifications of the ordinary brownies recipe. Matcha is a finely powdered green tea prepared from the specially grown green tea leaves. It is particularly associated with Japanese culture, in the Japanese tea ceremony.

This product is so high in antioxidants that it is, therefore, good for the health of consumers. If you’re craving warm, gooey matcha brownies with chunks of white chocolate, then you need to make these. Matcha lovers rejoice! These brownies are made using my chocolate chunk blondie recipe but can be made as matcha white chocolate blondies or with semisweet chocolate or without chocolate at all!

It can be made using normal dairy products, or you can make it completely dairy free, using dairy-free butter and vegan white chocolate. In the recipe below, matcha is used instead of the cocoa powder that would typically go into making brownies—and the matcha flavor comes right through!

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup butter (regular or vegan).
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons matcha powder
  • 1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • Melted white chocolate or 1/2 cup of chopped white chocolate or 1/2 cup of semisweet chocolate chips (normal or vegan).

Toppings

  • Matcha powder to be sprinkled on top (optional)

Equipment

To make your matcha brownies recipe, you will need:

  • A large mixing bowl
  • A whisk or electric mixer
  • A spatula
  • 8×8 inches square baking pan
  • Parchment paper (optional)
  • Oven

Making Process

Step:1- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Coat an 8 by 8 inch square baking pan with parchment paper and make sure they overhang on the sides to make it easy to cut the brownies out of the pan.

Step:2- In a microwave bowl, melt butter. Then add in brown sugar and white sugar and mix until it becomes a smooth texture, some sort of paste, when the mixing spatula is lifted up and it doesn’t stick to the sides of the bowl.

Step:3- Add vanilla extract, whisk it, and finally add eggs into the batter. This is the lumpy, gritty stuff that needs to be sieved before being used to incorporate the matcha powder, salt, and flour.

Step:4- Place all dry ingredients into the bowl and mix until they just combine—do not overmix this. Add the chocolate chips or chopped chocolate into the mixture (optional).

Step:5- Spread batter uniformly into the pan and bake for 25 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the brownies is clean but not free from wet crumbs.Bake the Matcha Brownies

Step:7- Top the brownies with matcha powder  if you wish to do (optional). Allow to cool down in the pan for some time before slicing it.Serve Matcha Brownies
